What is Policy

Public policy is a course of action that guides future decisions and activity that will take place that affect everyone. Nothing is set in stone, policy development happens by decision-makers choosing a course of action from the different alternatives they have.

By working together and using the expertise and knowledge that the BME third sector has we can offer different alternatives and ways forward, making it possible to bring long-term policy change and open up a wide range of possibilites. Improved policy making, benefiting from a BME perspective, will result in better outcomes for BME communities and improved social justice.

It may not seem so straight away, but the decisions that are made regionally and nationally affect all communities by directing actions and investment at local levels.
